Most new homes in Ontario come with a statutory warranty administered by Tarion, covering workmanship, key systems and major structural defects for set periods.
Coverage periods
Coverage is layered by time after possession.
- 1 year: workmanship and materials, Ontario Building Code compliance
- 2 years: water penetration, electrical, plumbing and heating systems
- 7 years: major structural defects
